believing in Santa...
Every year, the local newscasters do a special bit on Christmas eve. They use the doppler radar and track where Santa and his sleigh are in the world, what the weather conditions are for his journey and if he’ll run into any delays. This morning they did the same thing on the today show and showed some guy working on Santa’s sleigh before his “big trip”

I know what you’re thinking…
“what a bitch!”
but I did… because I’m getting a little stressed out about Christmas. making sure everything is packed for the trip home, making sure I have gifts for all of our relatives, checking off things on my never ending “to do” list before we take off on Wednesday. All of my stress finally got the best of me...

I’m glad everyone is getting on the bandwagon with this movie (thank you HBO for airing it non-stop). I absolutely loved it and bawled through the entire thing. I really like the soundtrack too. It has a really great Flogging Molly song on it.

What! I like the historical dolls better than all these everyday-normal girls they have. Her issue is “relational aggression”… what happened to women’s rights, slavery, being an immigrant… etc. Next thing you know, these dolls will be like characters from an after-school special… suffering from anorexia/bulemia, alcoholism or they’re cutters and they...

ugg boots, although warm & cozy...
are NOT snow boots.
I just trudged into work after stepping in snow drifts up to my mid calves and getting sprayed with snow sludge as I was waiting to cross the street.
I know everyone and their brother wear UGG boots in chicago… (myself included) and yes, they are delightful on a frigid, windy day… BUT they are not suitable for these wet and sloppy conditions. I came into work...

Christmas 1996
caryrandolph’s post got me thinking about the good ol’ days… 8th grade to be exact. I too have a gap scented memory.
Now, I like to think that I was an 8th grade ball-breaker… but back then I was just known as the heart breaker. I had plenty of guy friends that I frequently went to the mall/movies with, but whenever they asked me out or wanted to be more than...

finally, took a gander at this article… and I loved it. my favorite part was
“If she knows what song is coming next on the mix CD you made her: She loves you.”
I think because it reminded me of when my husband and I were first dating… he was in KC and I was in Chicago. He made me a mix CD with all of these songs I had never heard before, but he told me each one had a...
